The Brazilian butt lift is a butt augmentation procedure that gives women a fuller body profile with more prominent buttocks. Many woman opt to have the Brazilian butt lift over butt implants because results from the Brazilian butt lift look more “natural.”
Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Butt Implants
Butt implants are silicone implants inserted into the buttocks. This procedure is mainly recommended for women that have small frames with minimal fat in the stomach and flank areas. The Brazilian butt lift is done by using fat injections or fat transfers to the buttocks using fat liposuctioned from a different part of the body. This method produces more “natural” looking results than the implant method and is often preferred by plastic surgeons.
The Brazilian Butt Lift Process
The area around the buttocks, including the stomach, thighs, and lower back are liposuctioned. The fat taken from these areas is processed and purified. The plastic surgeon then injects the purified fat into certain areas of the buttocks at different depths to create a smooth and uniform appearance.
After Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery
In order to achieve long-term results, patients who undergo Brazilian butt lift surgery should not sit directly on their buttocks for three weeks. Swelling may last for up to six weeks. Patients are given a compression garment to wear for two weeks to help control swelling. Most patients return to work after two weeks and resume normal activities after four weeks.
Benefits of the Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
A Brazilian butt lift has a lower risk of infection compared to implants. Additionally, the areas liposuctioned for fat transfer appear leaner.
