Are You Considering a Brazilian Butt Lift in Houston?
A Brazilian butt lift can be a solution for women unable to achieve the results they want via exercise. The Brazilian butt lift is a butt augmentation procedure that gives women a more sensual body profile with youthful and perky buttocks. Many women opt for a Brazilian butt lift over butt implants because the Brazilian butt lift uses the patient own fat and has less long term complications.
Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Butt Implants
Butt implants are an augmentation procedure where silicone implants are inserted into the buttocks. They are mainly recommended for women with small frames and very little fat in the stomach and flank areas. The Brazilian butt lift, however, uses fat injections or fat transfers to the buttocks obtained by liposuction from a different area of the body. Who Is the Ideal Candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift in Houston?
Ideal candidates for the Brazilian butt lift procedure should have natural pockets of fat in other areas of the body, including the stomach, abdomen and thighs. These fat deposits are necessary because liposuction is used to remove the patient’s own fat and which is then injected into the buttocks for better shaping and volume. As with any other surgical procedure, the ideal candidate should also be in good overall health and have realistic expectations. A complimentary consultation with Dr. Mark A. Schusterman at the Texas Center for Breast & Body will help patients determine whether they are suited for this procedure.
The Brazilian Butt Lift Process
For the best results, areas around the buttocks such as the stomach, thighs, and lower back are liposuctioned. The fat taken from these areas is then processed and purified. The surgeon then injects the purified fat into certain areas of the buttocks at varying depths to create a smooth, uniform appearance with results that are long-lasting. As much fat as possible is injected into the buttocks because not all the fat will “take”. Some of it will be absorbed.
Potential Risks of a Brazilian Butt Lift in Houston
Because a Brazilian butt lift is a surgery, there are certain risk factors associated with the procedure. Complications from the procedure can include, but are not limited to: bruising, pain and numbness; hematoma, fat embolism, scarring, infection, and partial loss of graft.
The level of risk for the procedure varies depending on a number of factors, including the amount of fat to be removed via liposuction and the number and size of areas to be treated. Other factors that can increase the risk of complications include smoking, uncontrolled high blood pressure, and diabetes. Certain medications may also need to be avoided for a period of time before the procedure. Dr. Schusterman will discuss everything in the consultation and provide complete pre- and post-operative instructions.
After Butt Augmentation Surgery
In order to achieve permanent results, patients who have a Brazilian butt lift should not sit directly on their buttocks for up to three weeks following surgery. Post-operative swelling may occur for up to six weeks. We encourage patients to move around frequently, particularly in the first five to seven days following surgery, to help reduce swelling. Patients must also wear a special compression garment for two weeks following surgery. Patients can usually return to work after two weeks and resume normal activities after four weeks. Final results will be most noticeable after about six to nine months.
Benefits of a Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

Additionally, the area that was liposuctioned is leaner, which then provides women with a profile that is more sensual. This type of butt augmentation gives women a more natural and attractive look, which is why many prefer it over the implant procedure.
